Maverick Trading is an import company specialising in housewares with a 15 year track record in this sector. Starting of as a supplier to Cash & Carry's, and Wholesalers across the country, Maverick Trading outgrew this market to exclusively supply major retail stores across South Africa. In this ever competitive market, longevity is an accolade, of which Maverick Trading has strategically positioned itself to navigate this industry with trend forecasts, and a dynamic portfolio of products. Maverick Trading has an extensive network of suppliers in China, India, Indonesia, Thailand and other Asian countries, built through solid relationships based on trust and partnership. This keen understanding of the environment has seen Maverick Trading help grow it's clients business with record sales through excellent product offerings, and an enhanced brand image to the consumer.

Experience

Maverick Trading's directors brings together a combined experience of 85 years in the industry. Buster Rajah and Logan Moodley, the two most senior directors of Maverick Trading, have over 35 years each in this sector, building on relationships established with overseas suppliers since then.Velon Govender, a fellow director, has over 15 years of experience in this space, as a buyer, and now as a senior retail sales director, resourcing goods, working together with clients to identify products to match their specific market needs, which includes assisting in trend forecasting, plotting the way forward strategically, as well as using his experience and networks to help buyers acclimatise to the overseas market place on their visits. Rivash Budhi, sales manager, brings to Maverick Trading his 13 years of experience in the chain store retail sector, on the buying, and supplying side of the business.

Infrastructure

In order to be a preferred supplier of a national retail chain, Maverick Trading has to have the infrastructure to handle clients of that magnitude. This is evident in Maverick Trading outgrowing its old premises, recently purchasing new premises, in the form of the old Standard Bank building on Chamberlain Road, in order to match its growth path, and output. As business grows, so does Maverick Trading's capabilities in line with their clients, in order for relationships and business to grow and prosper at its optimal level.
